I have the medal card for him but whre do I go next for more info George Trudget private 28736 of 11th Battalion Warwickshire Regiment. His name is on the Mennen Gate at Ypres. His name is on the gates which means you are lost in Action believed killed but no identifiable body was ever found. Have a death date as 12/8.1917 age 25. Any ideas where to find more info on him. thanks

You have a 20ish% chance of finding his service records at Kew. or CWGC may have some extra info like next of kin. 1837 should have a referance for his death cert mut the only info you will get is the caurse of death which you can get online anyway either at 1837 or http://www.military-genealogy(.)com/

Lunar I know who his parents were but did they give death certs if you were missing in action? Thats why I can't understand why mums cousin has a death date for him if his name is on the gates

I got a cert for my WW2 rellie. Had to find reference in overseas listings. The war deaths have their own volume references at GRO. Now mine was killed in action but he has a grave . Not sure how this works if they don't have a body to bury. I think you need one those great military slueths that help out on here.
