Val, did you get your 10 free units? Log in, click on purchase units, in the top promo code box put LC2005 and click and a box with 10 units should come up, click and hopefully, they are still dolling out 10 units free to newbies. The only period that is really good is the 1866-1920 one. That is fully name searchable. The rest is just the same as ancestry beta or 1837 - so dont use units on any period other than 1866-1920 So if you want say a birth of Fred Bloggs born about 1882 in Rotherhithe (you think) Then click on the right period (1866-1920) enter the event - birth enter the name - NEVER put more than one first name - it doesnt matter if he had six, only use one. if you think he was born about 1882 but not exactly sure cos in one census it looked like 1889 - then cover a good time span say 1879-1892 (or whatever you want). If you have an idea of the area - say its Rotherhithe, you can either choose the actual reg district or click next to the map for the area you want to cover for the search Then search! Up will come every Fred Bloggs born in the time span in the area you have told them. You can then refine it down |

Oh Val, just one thing, always check freebmd first before using your units on familyrellies. Sometimes I forget to do that first just in case your event is already available on there! |

Well it wasnt foolish Val, cos there are still missing quarters on ancestry, arent there. You may still need them. Did you see someone had a mail saying the 1841 will be on in April. |
