I have been looking for some deaths and for each person, I have found only registrations in Chorlton, even though the people lived in Salford in the nearest census. Does anyone with Manchester / Salford ancestors know whether it was common for people living in Salford to register Births and Deaths in Chorlton? Thanks in advance. Lynne |

The full title of the RD was Chorlton & South Manchester which covered a large area including The Chorlton Union Infirmary at Withington. It was not uncommon for people from other unions to be patients there and die there...thus being registered in Chorlton. Ged |
