What was his occupation? It sounds like a stage name (or a conman's!) Usually aliases only involve a change of surname |

I have a similar situation in my tree - a total name change (which I have verified). My rellie did it when he upped and ran off with a relaltive's wife. She left 8 kids, all under 12, with her husband. I imagine the families weren't too chuffed with them so they changed their names for about 20 years before they reverted back. Maybe yours has another wife and family somewhere? Julie R |

hi julie, how awful........although i dont think mine had chance really,he died young,my grandfather was only 5 when his parents both died...... i think perhaps he could of been a 'bad lad'......maybe this explains why he went to india+why he had an alias....... ALL OPINIONS GRATEFULLY RECEIVED!!!!!!!! rachie |
