Carmen (horse & cart) were often employed by railway companies for local deliveries and collections of goods and parcels..... Modern day van Dont know about the other one exactly but presume he worked for Hotel, railway or similar, and basically a Porter. My grand father was a 'carman', the other was a 'Comm Porter', both lived in London, does anybody know what these two trades were?
