conflicting marriage date 1914 and 1919

I don't know what attestation papers are, but I would imagine that they just wanted to let people think that they were married in 1914 for some reason. Lots of people on census returns call themselves married, when in fact they got married years later. Kath. x

Following on from the advice about the fantastic 'collectionscanada' where I located the records of a relative....... I recieved that morning the marriage cert for said relative for the year 1919 but the attestation 'spaper I viewed online was dated 1914 and had him as married and had her name........ this was in fact the same lady's name as the marriage certificate I recieved........... 5 years difference (her name was quire unusual and with the same middle name and the same address as on the cert) any ideas on this many thanks
