trying to find the death of my gtr grandfather. patrick oneill born c1850 in galway ireland but married in leigh lancs in 1872 his wife margaret died in 1902 in leigh aged 46 years i cant find his death on bmd anywhere he didnt go back to ireland . anyone got any ideas thanks linda x |

hi yes he was alive in 1901 and that is them on the 1901 census. just cant find his death either on bmd or igi ?? thanks linda x |

You won't find it on IGI - that has very few deaths, especially for 20thC. FreeBMD only goes to ~1910, so if he lived past then, he won't be on there either. Have you looked through the deaths index on Ancestry? (it's free). |

You say he didn't go back to Ireland... When was he last known to be alive? Are you searching with several spellings of O'NEILL / O'NEIL etc.? |

yeah i am looking for all oneill spellings dont know much about him. cant see him going back to ireland as he was a rag dealer and was very poor. thanks linda x |

they weren't a great family for travelling around you can find members of the family living in the same street or the next street so i dont think he would have moved. if he was ill i think one of his children would have looked after him thanks linda x |
