Can anyone help me please? I am tracing the Treweek family tree, without much success! In the 1851 census, Grace Treweek is stated as being born in Kea, Cornwall. In the 1861 census, beside her name, it says, British subject, Brazil. What can this mean? Could some one please enlighten me? Thank you, Nicki

It would usually mean that she was born in Brazil, but is a British Subject because her parents were British. Perhaps they just forgot to mention it in 1851. Would they have gone abroad for some reason? Kath. x
