Want to put my family tree from here onto PAF, do I have to copy it all onto it? Is there an easier way to move my tree from here to store it somewhere else? Not computer minded at all |

You use a software package called Gedcom to import or export your tree to and from GR to Paf or Family Tree Maker or anyother genealogy package. BUT I do know some people have recently had problems with importing/exporting from GR. When I got my PAF I downloaded my GR tree onto my computer hard drive, and then imported it to PAF. This was so that I have it in GEDCOM form, in case anything went wrong. So now I have GEDCOM file on desktop PAF on computer (and regularly updated to disk) GR tree and lots of paper files!!!!! nell |

I am no expert but I bought myself the Family Tree Maker software and exported my tree from here to it , you dont have to manually input the details |

Recieved it in my emails Do I now need to purchase a FTM to copy it over to Sorry for the questions but when it comes to computer programmes I'm not top of the class Have downloaded the PAF from IGI but that needs me to manually re-enter all the individuals in my tree - all 500 of them - I think not, it's took me months upon months to put them on here without having to re-do it all over again to PAF |

Joanne That's a relief. But do remember to backup to a disk just in case your computer gets damaged. nell |
