On familyrelatives, you can search up to 1920 with names, dates and areas. They may have got the info from there. It's transcribed 1866-1920. I find it very useful for odd lookups. It is PPV though. |

I'm presuming then that marriages for persons born 1910 to 1925 period,ie marriages c1930 onwards really mean the trawling method? I would need about ten just to cover mother and her siblings, and couldn't even begin to guess if more than two or three are local to birthplace. Plus if they follow the family trend they probably did it more than once, much liking for wedding cake in the two i have so far!!! Glen |

Glen, yes from 1920, you need to trawl. If you have an uncommon surname, it would take about an hour to do 10 years. |

If I am not mistaken, the marriage was early 1900's and you knew the names of bride and groom. A search on FreeBMD located the marriage, using the brides name to search. http://freebmd.rootsweb(.)com Remove the brackets The four names which appear in the GRO index with that reference number were shown. Two grroms and 2 brides. From the information you already had it was possible to confirm that this was the correct reference. Pete |

Thanks Orangeblossom,t'was the answer i didn't really want to hear but such is life. Same for everyone i suppose, shame is no-one i've linked to really knows about the others, and most of the time can't even be bothered to check if their parents were children born to My Lilly and William. Thanks anyhow. Glen |

Glen, if it makes you feel any better, my lot are the same. I trawled 1920-1942 to find one death lol Grandmother told me her mother died young, so I figure not long after Grandmother was born... but no, it was 20 years later lol |
