You would need to find the parents' death certs first - see the civil registration bit in Getting Started - scroll down the homepage to find it. Then you could look for children's homes in the area and see if there are any records. nell |

Hi My father in-law James Shortall was born 25 August 1926 Kildare Ireland. Baptised 5 Sept 1926 Kildare Leighlin father Bernard Shortall mother Mary ( Coanor ?) sponcers Michael Baker & Elizabeth ( Kerryan) My husband said he thinks his Dad's parent were killed in a car crash his Dad and possibly brothers & sister were in a childrens home. Where would we start to look ? Jane |
