Hi have found my family on the 1901 census William Pugh b 1853 llanhynyher, monmouthshire living in parish of Runcorn Cheshire with wife Sushannah b 1850 Llynclys and children sushannah 1894, richard 1887, rebecca 1882, peter 1896, john c 1885, alfred 1889 but cant find them before this...am i being thick again...????? |

How accurate are you expecting the match to be? I'd be very surprised if it proves not to be your family. ''John C'' matches ''Charles'', for instance and Llynclys is just south of Oswestry... I'd reckon it's worth seeing if you can track that family elsewhere before you write them off. My g-g-father was born in both Maidenhead and Romford according to diffferent censuses. I reckon that's because he was probably asked ''where are you from'' instead of ''where were you born'' - not quite the same question. And people weren't at all accurate about ages either. And Welsh names to a Cheshire enumerator - tricky ground. Christine MUST get back to work! |
