Hello all, I'm very new to this and just seeking advice from the more experienced of you out there! I'm trying to trace my father's biolgical mother, Olive Legg from Dorset. He was adopted through Barnardo's in 1948. I have searched this site but there doesn't seem to be an Olive Legg on anyone's tree who would match her age (born late1920s/ early 1930s). Would the adoption agency have kept any more detail or an address? If so can I get access to it? Any guidance much appreciated as I'm a little bit stuck! Many thanks, Kate x |

No, he passed away in 1985 without ever finding her, and my Mum has only sketchy details. |

You obviously know his birth name,do you have his original birth cert? |

Yes, my Mum thinks she has it at home somewhere so maybe that would be easier? |

If you know his original name, his original cert will have an address on it. providing she was 18+ she should be on the elec. roll for the time |

That's brilliant thank you. I fear, though, that she may only have been 17. |
