if anyone feeling generous, could they give me some ideas re brick wall!! grandad - harold thomas adams, born 1906 cleobury mortimer, shropshire married to ellen edwards. lived at 296 hurcott rd, kidderminster in early years had older sister annie who i think born in 1899 and younger brother called sam. no further details to be found would like to continue tree so need some details on his parents. any body got look ups to cover this? would be grateful

Hi Have you got your grandads birth cert? This would confirm parents names and you would be able to find them on the 1901 census

whats best way to order certs.last one i orderd cost me 15 pound, is there a cheaper way, otherwise i'll be too bankrupt to carry on searching!!!!

Never pay more than £7 !!! Order direct via the GRO's website: http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificate Richard

GRO is taking a long time at the moment, about 3 weeks. If you are in a hurry it's often faster to write to the local Register Office that would deal with Cleobury, send them a cheque for £7 and a letter giving the details of the certificate you want, name and year should do.

Just phoned two cert applications to Lincoln officeand bashed the plastic,(it costs £8 over the phone). Slightly put out that they are 10 days for despatch but fingers crossed. Heather are those Norfolk rellies still causing troubles,mine have just cost me £16 lol. Glen

Norfolk Glen?, Ive a map of the country with brick walls on it now. I could probably sell it as a lego model (or put it on show as modern art - entitled 'Brickwall -Depression' - reckon Id be in running for the Tate with that. Never mind, managed to find the Middlesex Foalsters/Fulsers/Forsters/Falsters/Foulshers/Fosters/Forsters on the 1841 today, so that was a little kick at the mortar joints. I wish I was just looking for my grandad!

There is this family in the 1901 census who have an Annie and a Sam....don't know enough geography to know how near Cleobury Mortimer the places are...
