Amazing after a famine now the feast (hopefully). Strange thing is, both contacted me seperately and they are on seperate lines that merge into one of my ancestors - very strange. I have a GGM called Steers, daughter of an Acton - I have been contacted by the Acton descendants on one hand and now the Steers descendants on the other. |

Good for you Heather. There are 2 people on GR who I know are definitely related, one to my mother's family and one to my father's. I've emailed them a couple of times but have never received an answer. |

Well the Acton line girl has come up with a fab photo and some certificates (not my direct line on those, but still nice). Yes, not only that but its obvious the two families were still in close contact back from 1800-1900 as they are all in the same occupation of lightermen and have distributed both surnames freely as middle names to their kids - isnt that brilliant. |

So far am only back to a marriage in 1765 in Deptford with a John Acton and Sarah Badcock (poor kid) so not sure where they were from originally. |
