Is there a way of stopping the adds on this site with Firefox please? I am sure i have adblock enabled but that doesn't seem to stop the one at the top or the one down the bottom of the side panel. Ann Glos

I downloaded the Google heading which has Pop up blocker on it& spellchecker amonst others, It works a treat to stop all pop ups.You can override it on any website where you need the pop ups, such as Freebmd.

Hi Ann Position the cursor over the image you want to block, right click. Down at the bottom of the box that comes up is Adblock Image. Left click on that. That will get rid of that awful flashing thing on the left hand side. However, it does not work on the ad at the top of the page (not sure why - something to do with frames, possibly). I just scroll the page down so I can't see it! Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best! Tina

Thanks for that! I am on an Apple mac power book, and managed to get rid of the bingo annoyance by holding the pad down and ticking a box in list which came down (no right click) but still have a restful Saga ad! Not quite so bad though! Allie

Thanks Tina, i tried that and it doesn't work. When I do what you say it comes up with a dialogue box about adding an adblock filter, but when I either OK it or cancel it nothing happens to the ad, even when Ithen go off the site and come back in, the blessed thing is still there. Do you also know how to permanently change the size of the text as well. I can change it but each time I go into the site it is back down to small again. Maybe IE wasn't so bad after all!! Ann Glos

Ann in Tools / options / content increase default font. Also in the same box click on 'advanced' and increase 'minimum' font. (can't tell you to what is depends on your setup) As for adblock there are a few versions around I suggest you use 'Adblock Plus' this is the newer version. It does work. (remove the other) Bob

Yes https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&id=1865 When using adblock make sure you select 'adblock image' and not 'block images' (firefox has an inbuilt blocker thats not as good)) Bob
