Help! Osborne in County Down

Can anybody help with tracing ancestors in Ireland? I am really struggling. John Osborne born about 1795. Son called James who moved to Scotland. Mother is named as 'Mary unknown surname' on James' death. James was born in Garvaghy in 1818, County Down and married Eliza Close

Sory he is just John Osborne, not Paul John! And I am not sure where he was born! I am just estimating his age from his son being born in 1818

hi paul so sorry its taken me time to get back to you just had to go off line for a bit i have quite a bit of information for james osborne birth 1818 garvaghie down ireland death march 1892 west benhar,shotts lanark scotland marriage 1836 ireland spouse eliza jane close eliza jane close birth 1818 banbrige,down,ireland death 2 feb 1880 byres,kilwinning aye scotland these are their children fergus osborne 1837 born in ireland mary osborne 1841 born in ireland robert osborne 1845 born in kilwinning ayre scotland christina osborne 1850 in kilwinning ayre in scotland margaret stevenson osborne 31may 1855 born in kilwinning ayr scotland isabella osborne 22 sept 1857 born in kilwinning ayr scotland samuel osborne 22 sept 1857 kilwinning scotland eliza osborne 22 dec 1859 kilwinning ayr scotland havnt found anything so far on john osborne but will let you know if i do kind regars kerry ann

hi paul i found this information this might be your rellies john osborne 1795 ireland civil parish heworth county durham margaret osborne 1790 born in ireland [wife] civil parish heworth county durham elen gillis daughter 1835 born in ireland john gillis grandson 1860 born in heworth durham england robert gillis grandson 1842 born in heworth durham england this isan 1861 census any more help you need just ask kind regards kerry suden

THanks for all all the information. I should have mentioned that I have all the details of James' children would've saved you some time. Sorry. James' death certificate names his mother as Mary, so unless this is used as a shortend version for Margaret, then it would not tally with then info you have found. So you can see why I am struggling.
