Hello, I am looking for a marriage between George Baker b 1811 Hunmanby, Yorkshire to Mary Ann Foster b c1811 Gateshead, Durham. Their first child Elizabeth was b c1835 in Hunmanby Yorkshire. I have found a reference to a George Baker married 20/03/1834 Hunmanby Yorkshire but the spouse is named as Susannah Milner. (familysearch+org - Batch M106351 Dates 1813-1837 Source Call No 0919200 Type Film; Printout Call No:6910818; Type :film). Is anyone able to check this info with the parish records? Do you have baptism/birth records for all their children, or have you got the children from later census records only??? Was just wondering if he could have been married twice?? If you have any bap records, then you will know if I am right or wrong!!! Merry

Hello Merry, I hadn't thought of that!! I got the original info from the census but now that you mention it, the first two children were born 1835 and 1836 .Then the next three b 1845,1846 and 1849. I have the birth certs for the 1845 and 1846 ones which show the mother as Mary Ann Foster. It looks like I will have to go back to the drawing board. Many thanks for your help Jean

I think you will need to get a birth cert for one of Mary's children in order to find which is the right george Baker marriages, as there are several in East Yorks with Mary as possible spouses (hardly surprising!!)
