hope i am in the right place? i am trying to research my mothers side of the family, which she doen't know much about as from the age of 5 to i think 16 she was in a childrens home as her mother died and her father was unable to bring her up on his own. The information i have at presents is as follows and i think is correct. i am going backwards from my mother: Mums name was Janet HArkness Jardine who was born 29/10/1931 also her brothers and sister was as follows: Charles William Jardine James Thomson Jardine Joseph Ernest Jardine John Jardine Wilhelmina Hall Stewart Jardine There parents were : Joseph Jardine Born 29/01/1898 died 10/04/1948 he married on the 07/08/1925 a Helen Thomson who was born in 1896 she died at cottage hospital jedburgh on the 03/01/1937 her parents were Robert Thomson and Wilhelmina Stewart. Josephs parents were:Charles Jardine and Janet Harkness, from what mum tells me they had my grand dad Joseph and at least 4 other children: Elizabeth Jean Jeannette William Charles's parents were James / Joseph Jardine? and Jane Irving? Janet's parents were George Harkness? and Elizabeth Graham? James/Joseph Jardine parents were William ? and Elizabeth Halliday? Jane Irving's parents were Martin Irving and Ann Patterson? as i can make out the areas they lived were as follows Jedburgh, Canonbie, middlebie.... if there is anyone out there that think they can help me in the right direction in tracing this family i would be very grateful as my mother would like to know more about her back ground as she is now 74 and she says time is getting less ! |

I suggest you decide what information you need to find out and post separate requests for each bit. nell |
