There is a birth reg for a Clara Hinchliffe in Q1 1901 as well!! However, she shouldn't be born in Newton as the reg is in Chorlton district. I think you are going to have to get the birth cert.......You don't want to be doing the wrong tree! Merry |

just looked under birth for prestwich for any residence in the uk (1901)and nothing.Do you think they didn't mention her on the census if she was newly born.? I have looked on Ancestry, is the 1901 census site more accurate or is it the same? |

Following on from Jess' list, there is this one, born in Newton and who is two months old: Anne Hinchliffe abt 1896 Newton, Lancashire, England Daughter South Manchester Lancashire *****Clara Hinchliffe abt 1901 Newton, Lancashire, England Daughter South Manchester Lancashire Elizabeth A Hinchliffe abt 1887 Newton, Lancashire, England Daughter South Manchester Lancashire Fred Hinchliffe abt 1895 Newton, Lancashire, England Son South Manchester Lancashire Mary Hinchliffe abt 1866 Newton, Lancashire, England Wife South Manchester Lancashire Thomas Hinchliffe abt 1890 Newton, Lancashire, England Son South Manchester Lancashire Walter Hinchliffe abt 1892 Newton, Lancashire, England Son South Manchester Lancashire Martha Rushton abt 1839 Manchester, Lancashire, England Mother-in-law South Manchester Lancashire Maybe she was called Clara as a pet name. Alternatively, you could send off for the birth certificate to get her parents' names. Suzy |

Hi Merry I don't know who the parents were, I thought if I found her on the census then I could find the parents names. I know she died in 1976. cath |
