Just to let you know I went to my parents' today and they'd found a photo of the wedding - with the bride's parents in! This after swearing blind that they disapproved of the match and wouldn't come to the wedding! Honestly!! Anyway it's interesting and they reckon the date of the wedding is September 1945 ish going by the size of my Dad in the photo (he was born Jan 1943 and is a cute little kid in the photo!). I found out that my parents definitely DID destroy the annulment papers - and various other ones - they thoguht they were too personal to be kept (aaagh!!). Ho hum! Well I shall see what I can find anyway and maybe one day I'll solve the mystery of why Winifred Lilian Adams and 'Reg' never did consummate their marriage! Today my Mum said my Nanny told her 'He never could 'do it' ' - guess they didn't have viagra in those days eh?!! Or maybe he was gay... or married... we may never know!! thanks anyway and hope you guys find this interesting! Abi |
