I have found in the 1901 census a Louis Golnby Richards at Woolwich Barracks, says he was born in Banbury about 1885, have searched 1884, 85 and 86 and can find nothing else and also 1891 census. Can anybody help with further findings of this individual please? Thanks in advance for any help.

Jayne: Not quite sure what you mean about not being able to get FreeBMD to work. Do you mean in general, or only in relation to this particular query? Note that the spelling of the middle name is a little different than what you were expecting. I found it by using the first name of 'Louis G'; note that FreeBMD takes what you put in for a first name and looks for any names beginning with those letters (so that 'Ann' finds 'Anne', but 'Anne' won't find 'Ann'). Hope that makes sense!
