Sheila - it could well be that the person in question has deleted their tree since the hot matches were processed. Kate.

Margaret, You'll get DEF when you have had all the matches with ABC but if someone imports a large tree with lots of names matching your ABC's you will get them instead - ot so we have been told.

I wouldn't mind but I keep getting a hot match with (allegedly) four matches to my tree, but there is a fault on the site and I cannot see the details. How frustrating is that? Just have to wade through all the William Smiths in the country instead. Sheila

Nat Most of the matches were the same but some were different. It's all to do with the names you have in your tree. If you have alot of surnames begining with A you may never get matches begining with Z, but the person you match with may have more names ot the end of the alphabet.

Kate Yes, it does seem like there are a lot of glitches. Wish they would give it a look and change their method. We can always hope!!!! Nat

You aren't getting all the possible matches. GR stop when they have found 100 'new' ones for you each time. They start with surnames at the beginning of the alphabet, but I'm not sure how they sort within surname. They seem to think that their system is fine! But I do hope it gets some improvements! Kate.

Lunar So were any of all those matches the same? What I mean is that ours never are. If we weren't checking with each other we would miss a lot of info. Nat

Yes - my first match with some one I had 22 matches but they had 35 (we are first cousins so you can imagine the over lap when we work together) I keep getting matches with an aurnt in dribs and drabs and now some are duplicated.

My aunt and I are both members of GR and so have many names the same on our trees. We have noticed that when Hot Matches come in we each get different people as matches and never get the same names as each other. So how can we all be getting all the possible matches for contacts? How does GR sort the matches then? Very puzzled here. Nat
