Thank you so much... Would I have to order the death cert. in order to find out which is the right one? And how do I do this? I was rather hoping that we had a whole new chapter to the family that I could investigate tho! j |

You could look at the Commonwealth Graves site at www.cwgc.org to see if he died during the war. Kath. x |

I just searched 28 years, page by page, of the BMD register to find one, so in theory you could do that :) Do you know the last point he was known to be alive? |

... I only have their birth record? I'm new to this and have reached a block. My paternal Grandmother (Edith Annie Thompson)'s father was called John Thompson and according to the 1901 census lived at 37 Dilston Rd, Elswick in Newcastle upon Tyne. When my grandmother's mother died he abandoned the family and probably went on to re-marry and have more children. Does anyone have any ideas on how I find out this sort of information? Thanks in advance, Jennie |
