Highly unlikely anything will be online. You need to contact the county records office. There should be a report of an inquest in the local newspaper. Actual inquest reports very rarely survive. Margaret |

Hi, my great uncle was 'accidentally shot in the head' while on searchlight duty with the northumberland fusiliers. As it was such an odd way to die, especially in those times i was hoping to find an obitituary or details of his inquest online. I've googled everything i can possibly think of and i cant find anything. If anyone can try, could you please look for Edward Elliott died 14th June 1940 aged 27, and the inquest was held 18th June 1940 in the Darlington Ward. Ive emailed Durham Records office to see if they can find anything as the dates i want arent on their website. many thanks |
