Do they ever answer queries ? I have sent three over as many weeks and have as yet had no reply :( I have someone else's relative attached to my tree. When I try to delete it, it tells me that the record doesn't belong to me. Since my Great Grandfather lived c1870 - and this lady (who is attached as a wife) has a birthdate of c1516, I'm pretty sure she's not mine (or his). Also, does anyone know when the export function will reappear ? Unfortunately, I have only just purchased a genealogy package and when I went to export my tree, I found I can't. Having been in IT for 26 years, I can guarantee that NOT telling people what's happening just annoys them. Even a one line 'we're running behind time but think it'll be available xxxxx' is better than nothing. Sorry for the whinge and apologies if this is not the right place for this post, but I'm a tad frustrated at the moment. Jo

Jo They do have a habit of not replying. But, When you contacted them, did you scroll down a little? It then asks you if you want to send the email. You have to confirm that. If you didnt, then they didnt receive it. Margaret

they do, but the method of actually sending a meaage is a bit unusual.have you followed the mesage sending procedure thru to the end? when you have written your message you think you have sent it, you get a proof read type message and then have scroll right down and send again you then get an immediate acknowledgement message

I am mad too I want to export mine but they seem to be having a problem updating the site. Its not good enough, and yes I did remember to scroll down, unlike the first time I sent them an email oops..

Thanks Margaret :) I'm pretty sure it was sent, but you never know.

Thanks everyone :) I would say that I didn't send the message(s) as I when I followed Margaret's instructions I received a confirmation which I hadn't before. mmmm, could be a bit more user friendly.

The more cynical amongst us think it's a deliberate ploy by GR to cut down on the number of messages they receive!

Oh David! You are cynical. Why set up a sytem to contact them and deliberately make it cryptic? this site has 'quirks' it is just one of them jessx

I found somone elses relatives attached to my tree that didnt belong there. They were curiously relatives of people that had contacted me on unrelated matters. I did contact support about it and they did send confirmation that they had recieved my email. That was about 3 months ago. Since then nothing. I was able to get into the details and alter them to who they should be. Can you try that? Ellen X

Jo For about 6 months now I also have people on my tree who are not mine. I have reported it the genesreunited, but Ive had no response. I cannot even click on them to change the names as I get a message saying I have no access to that tree. Looks like I am just stuck with them. Sara

The obvious thing would be to download your tree to another package like FTM delete the offending part of the tree yourself and upload it again on here, but as they seem to be having a problem with downloads at the moment I guess you'll have to wait. It would be interesting to see which method will be the quickest, being able to download your tree, or GR answering your query and doing something about it themselves. lol Not really funny tho is it, just damn frustrating.
