Merry it was Re finding out if my Grandfather was in the M/Navy gave what little detail i had plus £7 fee this was 1 week ago June . |

They have probably about half a dozen different sources for M/Navy personnel at Soton Archives. Some you have to know the name of the ship to search and some are in a (rather vague) alphabetical order by man's name!! I suppose if someone is going to take the bother of doing a bit of cross referencing then it might take a while, so your request might keep being put to the bottom of the pile...... Maybe a polite phone call asking if they have had any success would be the ting to do? I would phone on Tues/Wed. They are not open on Mondays from what I remember. Merry |

Ooh Michael......It's a long time since I was there, but at one time it was Mondays.....(picture me with nose pressed to the window on the wrong day!)....maybe they changed it....anyway June, they won't answer if it's closed! Merry |
