Jeanette- The 1871 is spot on. I know Mary Ormston was widowed before marrying Robert Ormston and as Margaret Douglass is listed as Roberts step-daughter in 1871, I naturally suspect her to have been Mary Douglass at some point. If that is her in 1861 I wonder what happened to the other children, this is the first reference to them that I've seen. I should be able to find a marriage ref for her, she was borm Mary Mould, and it narrows down a period of death for her first husband. Thanks, Brenda |

1871 Census of Durham, Plawsworth RG10/4990, Folio 40, Pg 23. Ormston family: Robert, head. Mary, wife, ???? Douglass, step-daughter - I can't make out her first name, Ancestry have transcribed it as 'Mahan'!! Can anyone help?? Thanks! Brenda |
