Thanks to all you lovely people I did it , its easy when you know how. Now what I need to know is If I go and get a Disc can I still backup the same thing but on Disc, and is it the same procedure??? thanks again everyone you are all lovely.

Well done Valerie - and yes, you can! Exactly the same process just use the drive where your cd is stored (mines on e and dvd burner on f - but everyone's different) Good luck Kim

Well done Val. Kim if i'm not mistaken to burn cdr-cdrw or dvd's you need a stand alone program like Nero burning rom or Roxio ect. All the best Steve

Yes, you do need a programme to burn the dvd's but my dvd burner is incorported into my cpu hence it's allocated to the f drive - I'm not a techie at all and my son set it all up for me but I do have a good knowledge of how to operate what I want to do (if you see what I mean) Kim

Windows XP supports basic CD burning but not DVD. Bob

Ann, its really easy to do a cd back up on ftmaker. It does it for you. Go to your program, click on file at the top, then back up, then cd and away it goes. Of course, have your disc in the coffee tray!
