Hi there all, I am attempting to trace my paternal G/G/M. All that I have been able to glean from 'other sites is her cDOB and place of birth, Ancestry is ok but on giving her birthplace, then does not seem able to locate it, neither can Google. Can some one PLEASE tell me where Wraton. in Oxfordshire was/is all the info is on the 1901 census Any help gratefully recieved. she is Elizabeth CURTIS c1863 |

Right, the 1901 . where does she say she was born in 1891or 1881? I've had a look at the census image and I think that although they have transcribed it as Wraton, that it actually says Draton, and this is probably a mis-spelling of Drayton. Kath. x |

which is totally borne out by 1891 census. fathers birthplace according to 1901 is actually Woodford Halse |

Do check info, I used an atlas and then all my info tallied. On the 1901 census its written my grt. grandparents came from War in Hereford. in fact it was w are in hertfordshire |

Do you think it could be Worton have looked on curious fox and this is the nearest to oxford for 10 k i always look on there for missing towns and villages you can also leave messages Val |

I'm with Kathleen. Look at how the enumerator writes Wife and Daur. The D looks like a W, but it curls in at the top |
