hello I have come across children who have died in the same month or year of birth (via parish weekly newsletters)etc but when i search on 1837 online or free bmd it is not recorded. could it be the parents of this period i am searching 1847- 1860 did not requister the event as they could not afford it (double cost i suppose)? has any one had this problem and found an alternative to confirm birth and death? thanks mick |

Well it wasnt compulsory to register til about 1875 I believe. But the burials should be in the church register if thats any help to you? If you have parish newsletters with the deaths (how briliant, that is) then you will know the church. |
