There are 2 choices but if you knew he married a Ann then maybe Cunnigam, Mary HAYNES, Ann Zoe

Many thanks. I tried to buy the marriage cert, and sent my £7.00 off. Now I have had an email to say they cannot find this marriage, and they have charged me £3.00 for the privilage.

You cannot tell just by looking at the matches on FreeBMD, who married who. As Zoe says, if you know yours married an Ann..... Mind you, with relatively common surnames it is good practice to get a birth cert for a child as well as looking up possible marriages.......Yours might have married a different Ann, maybe in a different place than where you expect! Did you specify both names?? Maybe that Phillips married the other bride, so you had the wrong marriage in any case?? Merry

No Thomas Phillips married Ann Haynes, I have their daughters birth cert. I had the No. as Vol 6c page 200 is that correct??

Just looked on ancestry and Ann Haynes did marry June quarter 1860, v6c page 200. I believe you can view them for free at the moment. Gloria

Just put his name in and it came up the same vol and page. Gloria

I just looked at the GRO pages and yes they are both recorded as page 200 etc. There is something wrong though, as there are five names transcribed on FreeBMD for that page and volume number and in 1860 there should only be four names, max. Still looking....... Merry

I think it's Samuel Harris who is recorded with the wrong page number,....his is 201. Did Thomas and Ann already have children on the 1861 census? Merry

Lynda Did you put both peoples names on the certificate? Just wondering! Because if you did those 2 people cannot have married each other. This happened to me with a birth I was positive it must be the right one and put the fathers name as a checking point ...and they said it wasn't the right one.. Still might order it though very curious who this one is as cannot find another on the census..sorry waffling away there! But they did charge me £4.50 for that as I ordered over phone cert cost £8.50 don't know why!
