I have finally traced by grandfathers birth - ordered certificate which was lost by the postman finally arrived today after 2 weeks of waiting only to find ancestry 1901 down can anybody help with more details Robert Thomas Sharp Jane Harriet Sharp are my gt grandparents grandfather born 1905 name of George Ernest Sharp born at 105 Queens Building looks like Collinson Street Southwark can anyone tell me if they were there in 1901 and if there any any siblings? help would be really appreciated i am dying to know Annette

Could be this lot 125 Grange Road Bermondsey London Robert Sharp abt 1869 Bermondsey, Head carman Jane Sharp abt 1867 Bermondsey, London, Wife William Sharp abt 1887 Bermondsey, London, Son Robert Sharp abt 1890 St George the Martyr, London, Son Henry Sharp abt 1894 Bermondsey, London, Son Charles Sharp abt 1897 St George the Martyr, London, Son Florence Sharp abt 1898 Bermondsey, London,Daughter Edward Sharp abt 1899 Camberwell, London, Son NB Carman was a chap who drove a car (cart) with horses, either for a company or to be hired by anyone, a bit like a white van man today!

Carman - I have loads of these in London around this time. Our modern day equivalent would be any sort of delivery driver. Except in those days they used a horse-drawn cart. regards
