I used the new BMD index the other day, successfully I might add!, but now I can't find it on the site. Has it been taken off again? Or am I looking in the wrong place? Mandy XX

Ok, from the person who looks forward to the occasional junior moments now! Go to the usual search page. Go right down to below the search box thingy and you will see a link England and Wales Registration Index 1837-1983 (or something like that) then click and it will take you to a search box for the bmd index.

Oresume you mean the BMD on Ancestry UK ? If so, it is still there, just click on to Civil registration for England & Wales, this gives you up to 1983, move cursor down a bit for the further lot from 1983

I just looked - its says England and Wales Index BMD beta. Sorry, Im not sure if some of the people who replied know about the full index on there now? Its the same as the 1837 site with images for all the dates 1837-1983. Not just the freebmd site.

http://www.ancestry(.)co(.)uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx remove the brackets You have to search the images to find the one you think is the correct one. They are not name transcribed, just the first and last name on each image comes up from the search result. Margaret
