Since it is more likely than not that a Hot Match won't be anything of the kind, I am just annoyed that you can't remove the HappyGenesError ones and they clog up the list. nell |

Joy, I can better that! I cleared 16 pages of hot matches into 1 page and found a hotmatch (1 name) contained 2 names that have never ever been in my tree, I have never even heard of the surnames before. I did have plenty of name and year of birth matches for my grandfather but they were all in Oz and my grandfather was born in Wales. Would it kill them to get the right part of the planet? |

After emailing them about five times about this I finally got this reply, doesn't explain why it is a happy error, but anyway............ 'Names are constantly being added and removed from our database. The results for Hot Matches are not taken from the current version of the database. This means that if someone has removed their tree or some names from their tree, whilst the member's name would show as a match for you, you will only see an error message when you click on it as the names are no longer on our database. Our technical team are looking into this and do hope to have it fixed soon so that these names do not show as a match.' Kind Regards Barbara |

You're not on your own - I had a couple. The same day I got my hot matches they were gone! Selena |

Nell, I keep getting the same. I just deleted them and hope they redeliver them. We'll have to start a HappyGenesError club! |

I had the same problem and never did get the details of the hotmatch! I'm also getting this message when I try to view a contact's tree through the old tree program in order that I can print it. I reported this problem to the technical team at the start of December and it still hasn't been resolved. Apparently they are very busy! If you do report your problem be prepared for a long wait! |

With luck, people have whipped their tree offsite, so they can reload with even more useful names. In reality, they probably disliked us and disappeared. There is a serious reason why it's HappyGenes, but personally I think it was a programmer's idea of a joke. On the same theme, why do so many hot matches say there are two or three or more matches, yet only one shows? |

Just gone through my Hot Matches, contacting people I think I am connected to, deleting those that aren't. But I have 13 'Hot Matches' which when I click on them say 'Happy Genes Error'. Can someone explain why errors are Happy? I don't feel very happy about them! nell |
