Joseph Sharpe Head born 1830 in Quorndon, Leicestershire - Bricklayer. Emily Sharpe Wife born 1831 Hinckley, Leicestershire. Henry Sharpe Son born 1849 St Margaret's Leicestershire. Mary Jane Sharpe Daughter born 1855 St Margaret's, Leicestershire. Clara Sharpe Daughter born 1857 St Margaret's, Leicestershire. Arthur Thomas Sharpe Son born 1859 St Margaret's, Leicestershire. I have found Joseph, Emily and Henry in 1851 and 1861 Census. Can't find them in 1871 even using all the techniques I know. I also have them in 1881. Joy PS: Looking at Census images I do have they don't seem to move out of St Margaret's.

Was just having a look on Ancestry for you but the site has gone down - I will try again later. My guess is though that A Space Ship landed - somewhere in England in 1871 (The night before census night), as I have several people who I have found on all the previous census and the following ones but NOT on the 1871 !!! Makes you think doesn't it ????? Dea Xxx

Perhaps he was in hospital. The country was in the grip of a smallpox epidemic at the time of the1871 census.

Greeting's Again Joy..... Having looked at the 1881 census Image Which is 6a Court within Fleet St. in the Ecclesiastional Parish of Christ Church. Mother Church is St. Margaret's. Thinking aloud now……. I see from that return Eliza Sharpe (10) Joseph & Emily's Daughter was born c 1871.Leicester.. So..... Could Mother have been away having Eliza. On the night of the Census Sunday 2nd. April 1871. Or recovering after the birth else where and Father didn't register on the night ? I see the following births via 1837 site :- Dec Qrt. 1870. Eliza Sharpe. Leicester. 7 a 191. ( although it’s down as 7c Leicester. But the entry above this one is for a Lanc's District ….Chorlton 8 c ) Miss typing ? Or April Qrt. 1871. Eliza Sharpe. Loughborough ( Close to Quorndon ) Cert No. 7 a. 124. MIKE.
