Hi All, New to this so hope someone can help put me in the right direction. A short story! My relli Frank Matravers was lecturing at a Uni in scotland whilst doing an experiment he died! I have no further info however when his mother and sister went up to collect his body the train crashed! both survived and helped attend the injured again no further info. Frank Matravers Born 1911 Mother Dolcie Matravers nee Dearlove Born 1886 Sister Dolcie Florence Matravers Born 1908 Died 1980 They left Horsham Sussex so the train could have crashed anywhere on route. Thoughts please Lester |

Lester, the following site has details of a number of railway accidents. http://www(.)staff(.)ncl(.)ac(.)uk/m.h.ellison/nera/khoole/khoolecat/hleracds(.)htm you need to remove the brackets before using it. Other possible sources would be the newspapers at the time. You could try searching the online Times - see separate thread the Tips board for that - or look at local archives for old copies of newspapers. (Or the national archive in Colindale North London) Jim |
