My problem is not tracing relatives prior to 1901 but after if my grandfather was born in 1905 and i dont know his parents name how can i trace where he lived or any siblings? Annette

Annette You need to buy his birth certificate. that will give you his parents names and where he was born. Margaret

GRO Reference for his Birth Certificate is Name:Sharp, George Ernest Year: 1905 District:Southwark Quarter: Jan-Mar Volume:1d Page:56 Obtain Certificate and this will give you parents names including Mother's Maiden name. Then you will need to find a marriage for his parents. Joy

Anne You get Certificates from the General Registry Office. You can apply by post or online (will need a Debit/Credit Card for online application). Online £7.00 for Full Certificate. www*gro*gov*uk (replace * with a dot.) By Post £8.50 by post. Have the postal address if you want it.
