i.m looking for my great grandad and ive narrowed it down to 2 ,can any one tell me if theres any other way i can find out which ones mine. thanks sam x there currently on ancestry uk.

I think Jonathan meant were the entries you saw before 1901!! Were they birth registrations? Do you know his father's name and occupation from his marriage cert? Merry

i.mlooking for a sydney robinson i think he was born between 1905 and 1910 he was born in darlington. i have found two that i think could be him.

ok sorry,my heads doing summer saults right, all i no about him is sydney robinson , born darlington date unknown married dorothy pratt (date unknown) they had 2 daughters 1st one died at birth. 2nd dorothy was born 1934 in darlington he died early 1980s. thats all i no. sam x

If you search on the Darlington register site (http://www.darlington.gov.uk/Living/Register+Office/RegOfficeSearch.htm) there is a listing for a marriage between a Dorothy Pratt and Sidney Robinson in 1934 in Darlington. It allows you to purchase the certificate online. The marriage certificate will have their father's names and occupations and their ages which will hopefully help.

I think this would be the birth as the other one is a Robert Sydney and on the marriage that Sarah pointed out for Dorothy Pratt and Sidney Robinson in 1934 in Darlington he does not have a middle name Name: Robinson, Sydney Record Type: Births Quarter: March Year: 1907 District: Darlington County: Co.
