problems with reading a birth cert

i recieved my grandfathers birth cert yesterday i can read his fathers name and his mothers first name but i cannot read her maiden name or the address where they lived a lovely lady called sue tried to read it and we think she may have worked out a name but we have tried looking for a marriage but with no luck would anyone be wiling to take a look and give me some ideas hopefully debbie

Just rereading to see what you are looking for - Mums name I make it Ann Souter or Souten The address I make Pettram Road?

The area is Petham Kent and her maiden name looks like Souten Sheila

i will try to see if i can find a marriage for them but i cannot even seem to find my gr grandfather on the census or even on bmd

Yes, could be Petham Road.

pettham would make sense as he was a ag lab and pettham is right next to bridge

I was hoping this lot may be them - was that child their first though? Bit concerned about mum in laws name, though I suppose she could have remarried: 1901: View Record Ann Foord abt 1824 Canterbury, Kent, England Mother-in-law Ashford Kent View Record Anne E Scott abt 1865 Mersham, Kent, England Wife Ashford Kent View Record John W Scott abt 1858 Margate, Kent, England Head Ashford Kent

heather from what little my father could help me with frederick was not the first born but had a older brother called tom or thomas dad said tom was around 12 yrs older than frederick but that might be just say so
