Angela, I will go for you thats not a problem, have plenty of time on my hands!! Oops shouldnt say that, hubby will send me out to work full time not part time! When it warms up a touch (hate the cold) I will go for you, If its open on the 16th (Martin Luther King day) the kids are off and want to go into D.C then I might go, but will definately let you know ok. Have been before and heard them talk about all the records they hold so it would be great to actually try and find something in there. Debs x |

Debs That would be SO kind of you. Obviously no rush, it's very cold here too at the moment so I know it's much better huddled by the fire! Let me know if you do go & I'll let you have all the info you need. Thanks again. Angela |

It wasn't until 1865 that birth registration was mandatory in the US. Most baptismal records, if they survived, are now stored at central locations based on the religious denomination. If Catholic, they may be in one of the Maryland Archdioceses, possibly Baltimore. Without more information, it would be very difficult to find. Rose |

I have, on 1851 census, Martin Collingwood Luther born c1804 Maryland USA. He married in Bridlington, Yorks, 1838 (father Martin Luther, farmer). Have looked on IGI & can't find his birth. Where do I go from here? Any help appreciated. Angela |
