My G grandfather was Charles Rudduck Richardson who married Mary Emma Maughan 29/12/1909 age 20 resident of Wheatley Hill at the time and a miner .His father Thomas was also unsuprisingly a miner and their son Roger was already 3 months old. My grandparents talked of land rights in Ayreshire to my mum but what are these?I think they were peaved that another brother of Charles ,Edward (she thinks) got them. Problem is apart from his marraige cert I can't find him or his parents (no idea of mums name). Any help much appreciated Angela

Where is Wheatley Hill and where did they get married? Were they from Scotland? Sam x

Wheatley Hill is in the parish of Thornley Co Durham. Rudduck is scottish I think so there is a Scottish connection but Think he was born in the Durham area but not sure about his father >The land rights could be way back before Thomas or Charles. x
