I just went to add a couple of names to my FT2006 and I had a dialogue box shoot up saying now is a good time to add your tree to the World tree. Basically you click ok and it goes off. It said that privacy would be respected an no living persons added so I thought ok, Ill go for that then. It was only after it loaded I wondered if they use your private notes too?? |

Dunno if it uses your personal notes. I'm not paying the fee to find out! I'm afraid it's a big con! Ancestry will now add your tree to their WorldTree, but you will have to pay to access it! |

Yes, thats the other point, I assumed as they were using my info to add to their resource I would have access to it. But no, when I went to have a look, up comes the 'subscribe now' message. Blow that. $40 |

Perhaps if you give a name here or a private message to someone they could check ancestry for you |

My brother and I have just finished having a bad-tempered argument about this. I spotted our early attempts at a tree on Ancestry World Tree. It is now almost completely WRONG and I pointed this out to my brother. He was most indignant and said he had not put our tree on Ancestry. I said well its there, you look for yourself blah blah blah. Cut a long story short, he had put the tree on Rootsweb. He did not realise that this goes automatically to Ancestry. Neither of us is going to do anything about it, cos, as I said, its almost completely wrong - but its worth remembering, if you don't want your tree scattered over lots of site, where you may have little control as to who views it. I did not pay any fee to view 'my' tree on Ancestry, so perhaps you are all talking about something different, in which case I apologise and shall go back to my knitting. Olde Crone |

If I try to access a record on the One World Tree, it says I need World Deluxe Membership. Kate. |

I tried to remove my trees from world tree without success... I deleted them, but if I search all my details still come up months later, what makes it a pain is that some of the details now incorrect!!! |
