My gt gt grandfather was a railway guard in London from about 1841 onwards. He lived in Pentonville Road just along from Kings X and St.Pancras. He had been living and working as a baker in Ware, Hertfordshire previous to this ( the line ran into Liverpool Street). I have no idea which company/line he worked for/on. Does anyone have any suggestions where I could find out which company he worked for and maybe find his records? Any help appreciated Viv |

It's any newspaper or trade reports where the rellie gets a mention, that the site manager has traced and added to the database.. I spent about 12 years trying to prove my rellie worked for Great Western Railway. When this site uploaded the Railway stuff I found a Baord of Trade report about a very minor rail accident, but one that had implications for future safety.........There was my rellie, giving his opinion of what happened. Cost me £6 and about 48 hours to get the report. Merry |

Hi Nell, Very quiet Christmas, how about you? Thanks for the National Archives leaflets. Merry, Thanks for the address, no sign of him. I've worked out that the line to Kings X is G.N.R. and the line to St.Pancras is M.R. but can anyone tell me the line (as it was) into Liverpool Street? Thanks, Viv |
