Hi olde crone, I think Cornwall is awash with Faull's as well as Tyack's! I spent most of last years holidays in the churchyards of Kenwyn, Chacewater and Mithian. and at the truro records office. Found far too many Faull's and noticed there were lots of Tyacks too. Thats how I got started on this! It seems Tyack's went to Canada and the Faull's went off to the USA! Sue

Sorry I've not repied to you all ... Been out on a hunt for a boys home another relative was in...then went on to the records office... My Tyack was William Albert Frederick (think he was known as fred) and he emmigrated to Canada and met and married my gt Aunts daughter. Yep I know about Kenwyn being very near to Truro....hows this for spookyness?..... My hubbys relatives originate from the same area! They may even have known each other! Sue

Kenwyn IS in Truro, about half a mile from Rosewin Row, which still stands today - nearly bought a house there, a few years ago! I would be hard pushed to decide if it wa\s in the Parish of St Mary, or the Parish of Kenwyn - these two Churches equal distances from Rosewin Row. Cornwall is running alive with Tyacks. Olde Crone

Hi Joy, I did try 'googling' for online parish clerk for Truro. But haven't found the website as yet... If you think any of your Tyacks were buried at Chacewater Church and If we get down that way again this year, I'd gladly have a look for you and maybe take photos of graves. Although we found some of our Faull's there, I've since found out that there are more of them, so want to back for another search!...lol Sue Update.... just found web site of Cornwall online... lokking into it...

Just in case: My great-great-great-grandmother Elizabeth Williams Tyack was born in Penryn in 1783, baptised in St Gluvias, and married William Harrison in Stoke Damerel in 1802. Have you tried the Cornish OPC for the area of your Tyacks? :-) Joy

Hi Joy, My lot look as if they originated in Truro area...although in 1871 they said Kenwyn on census... I got interested in this side of family (husband of my 2nd cousinish!) as I found loads of Tyacks buried in Chacewater churchyard (cornwall) while we were there looking for Faull's ( my in-laws) this year when on our hols... You never know, if we went back lots more years, there may well be a connection! Merry... thanks again, I'd tried all sorts of sspellings, but didn't spot that one! Regards to all, Sue

LOL Just a fluke, I think!! I asked Ancestry for any ''James'' born Truro, 1843 or one year each way..........I was surprised how few people were listed......Looked at the first page and thought, ''Frack - that can't be a real name!!'' T's and F's often look similar in old fashioned script........ Merry
