Hi Natalie I found her on 1837. Don't worry about it, I've done the same thing myself. Sometimes we look too hard and miss it and then someone new looks and sees it straight away. That's why it's good to help each other. Hope it turns out to be what you are looking for:)) Chrissie |

Thank you so much Chrissie! Where did you find it? Apologies if it was staring me in the face all along, but I did look in all the usual places! I am very grateful to you as I can now order certificate. Thanks! |

Hi Natalie I've found your Amelia Alice without much difficulty. Not sure why you couldn't find her. Amelia Alice Stickley - Oct-Dec 1869 Ref 3a 193 Edmonton Chrissie |

Thanks everyone! That is really helpful. I think Gertrude Isabel is possible (although in other places her middle name is given as Jane). I have only tried Ancestry, FreeBMD and IGI, so I will try FamilyRelatives. Sorry for not giving birth dates: Amelia Alice was around 1870 and Gertrude 1880. It's just bugging me that I can find references for the other three children, but not Amelia or Gertrude. It is even more frustrating, as I am descended from Amelia! I have all the details of her parents etc, but I really want to order Amelia's birth certificate. Anyway.....thanks very much for all your help. Hope you all have a happy New Year! |

Got to dash Natalie. Will look later but I have found so far a Gertrude Isabel Stickley (or Sticklet) not very clear - on 1837 born Jan/March 1880 in Edmonton ref 3a 280. Seemed like a possibility to me. Chrissie |

You dont say where youve looked for the births. Ancestry and freebmd are not complete. Try using familyrelatives.org - claim 10 free units and do it for nothing! One tip, only enter one first name on familyrelatives search as it seems to glitsch if you use more than one. |

There were five Stickley sisters all born in Tottenham (Edmonton). I have found birth references for the eldest Nellie Elizabeth 1868, and the two youngest Mary Ann 1874 & Florence Caroline 1877. Would anyone know why the middle two Amelia Alice and Gertrude Jane are not listed? I've tried all sorts of combinations of names, places, dates etc, but can't find either of them - even though I there are marriage entries for both sisters. Any help or advice appreciated! Many thanks! |
