Charles bap 11 Feb 1815 Edward 18 Dec 1825 Mary 20 Dec 1818 William 15 Aug 1816 all baptised at S Willingham The marriage with Maria BUTTON 11 April 1814 at South Willingham seems likely - 10 months before the baptism of Charles. James FOX is not a particularly common name in Lincs.

Maria I have had a quick look on the IGI and the marriage of James fox to Maria Button is recorded on there - I assume this is where you got the info from? The marriage is an extracted record - that means its from an actual Parish Register, so fairly likely to be right. You can go to your nearest LDSFamily History Centre and order this film to view. As the LDS have filmed the marriage register, they will almost certainly have filmed the baptism register and you can order this to view as well. I don't know if anyone has transcribed these records on-line -(other than the LDS, of course!) have you looked on UKBMD for Lincolnshire, scroll down and look at the links on the righthand side of the page - there may be something useful there. Maria First useable National Census was 1841 - there were censuses before this but they were merely headcounts and of no use to the Family Historian. However, there are lots (?) of odd censuses taken in odd sorts of places - usually by the Church, and it is really a question of just digging around till you find something. As for civil records - well, there were none before 1837 and you will have to look at Parish Registers before this date. Try the Familysearch Site (LDS?IGI) as they have filmed many - but not all - Parish Registers. You need to check any info for yourself, but its a good place to start. In addition, many areas have transcribed various Parish Records and again, its a question of finding them - tell us who you are looking for, when and where, someone is bound to know if there are any transcribed records. To my knowledge no. Census is from 1801-1901 so far. And 1841-1901 mention names. According to births parish records are your first port of call and from 1837 onwards Civil registration Steve
