The other day I was playin around with FTM 2005 and under View it has a relationship calculator so I gave it a try. Some of the results were puzzling. Person Relationship Civil Canon My Mom Mother 1 1 3rd Cousin V111 4 My Dad Father 1 1 Husband of 3rd Cousin twice removed Brother/Sister Brother/Sister 11 1 3rd Cousin once removed 1X 5 Me Self 0 3rd Cousin once removed 1X 5 I understand how the Civil and Canon systems work. What I don't understand is how my mom can be both my mother and 3rd Cousin. Anyone any idea how this is calculated. Thanks Malcolm |

Blimey, you dont live in the southern states of the US do you? Must be an error unless there was some cousins marrying way back? |
