So do I. Could someone please send a message to GR suggesting that they put something in their standard 'hot matches' email pointing out that you should only reply to those matches where you think there is a connection? I don't want to send it because I have just sent them a suggestion about hot matches (to process in order of how rare each surname is, rarest ones first) and don't want them to think I am bombarding them with emails! I know there was a thread about this last night (which I can't find now) and I am so glad I read it or I wouldn't have known what was going on this morning when I got a 'first contact' from somebody saying they didn't think so-and-so was one of their relatives. What is happening, for anybody who hasn't read the other thread, is that some people, when they get their list of so-called 'Hot Matches', think that they have been generated by people sending them messages and that they should reply to them, even if they think there is no connection, rather than that GR have generated the list automatically in their own strange way. So for anybody who is still confused, you only need to send a message to a 'Hot Match' if you think there IS a connection; otherwise just 'Discard this match' and then save when you have finished. Hope this helps anybody who is confused...thanks to the person who just nudged 'What's going on?'; that was the original thread about it which I couldn't find. Kate. |
