I'm trying to track down my Joseph Comerford's parents. I know nothing about them, but know he was born in London borough c1854 and married in 1874 at Bethnal Green. From this I'm assuming that he was still single 1861 and 1871. Can anybody locate him for me please? Also his wife, a Catherine Miller was born c1854 in Northampton. Again can anybody locate her in 1861 and 1871 please? Thankyou once again for all your efforts. |

If you want to be sure you have the right families for Joseph and Catherine you will need their marriage certificate so you can check their fathers' names and occupations, otherwise you might spend a lot of time tracing rellies who turn out not to be yours! Especially with a common surname like Miller. Oh, unless they have relatives or 'visitors' with them on any census after their marriage to give you a clue. Kate. |

Just received back the marriage certificate for Joseph and Catherine. Catherine's father was William Miller - he was a coach wheeler. And Joseph's father was Edward Comerford - deceased. They got married August 7th 1874. So I'm looking for a death ref. for him and then trying to find a Joseph with an Edward Comerford. Phew!! |

Doesn't have an occupation. However he did have an older brother Edward going by all that, could he have fallen out with his father and put that name instead? Were there any laws you had to put the correct name? |

I've just found a Christening reference for Joseph and Catherine's daughter Eliza. Her middle name was Edith, another clue that Edward is a red herring? |
